The upscale units have rich, polished marble floors and counters, central air conditioning, jacuzzis inside and outside, three bathrooms, washer and dryer, cable TV, VCR, CD/stereo (even some CDs and videos), and more.
Puerto Aventuras is a luxurious gated golf/marina/beach resort consisting of stylish condos, villas and hotels. It features beautiful landscaping, a 9 hole golf course (soon to be 18 holes), and a 190 boat slip marina. There is essentially no crime and very little traffic. With so much, so close, you don't even need a rental car!
Each condo has complete kitchen facilities (including microwave, dishwasher, blender, coffee maker) and a dining room with service for six, so you can prepare your own enchiladas and mix your own margaritas. Two small grocery stores are in the area. Also in close proximity: world class fishing, two scuba dive shops, great snorkeling, sailing, a dolphin encounter, underwater archaeology museum, 9 hole golf course, tennis courts, health spa, trained sea lions, live music, disco, cable TV, horseback riding, cenote diving and art galleries.
The two units are NON-SMOKING (which makes them harder to rent but the owner doesn't want his luxury condos to smell like old ashtrays!). Of course, if you absolutely want to smoke, you can go out on the deck or relax in the outdoor hot tub or walk on the beach or sit around the brand new pool or walk the golf course...but please... NO SMOKING in Casa Kokai or Villa Margarita!!
Each condo is very roomy with over 1600 square feet. Each unit has a big hot tub on the terrace and three bathrooms. The marble floored, marble countered and marble walled bathrooms are works of art.
In the master bathrooms, Casa Kokai has a jacuzzi tub and Villa Margarita has a deep soaking bath tub with an overhead skylight.
There is a king-sized bed in each master bedroom and two doubles in the large second bedrooms. The couches in the living rooms are also great for snoozing and each unit also has a surprisingly comfortable inflatable queen sized mattress which can be used as an extra bed. No expenses were spared on the furnishings.
The first floor unit (pictured at left), Casa Kokai, (Villa del Mar "C" #105) is ground level with direct access out the front sliding patio doors to the palm covered, pink-white powder sand beach and to the beautiful adjacent swimming pool.
The second story unit (photos are below), Villa Margarita, (Villa del Mar "C" #205) is directly above Casa Kokai, and it has the same floor plan. The beach and pool view from the second story patio of Villa Margarita is a little bit better than the view from the large patio of Casa Kokai. However, the view from the first floor is also VERY beautiful and the patio is considerably larger.
If your group has older folks who can't handle a flight of stairs, or if you have little kids who want immediate access to the beach and pool, then Casa Kokai may be preferred. If you have adults who like to have a margarita or two or three on the second floor patio while savoring the best view of the beach, then Villa Margarita may be preferred. Best bet: invite a bunch of friends or have a family reunion and rent them both.
The beach is the largest and most beautiful in the area. There is also a palapa bar on the beach so if you prefer, you can order your Pina Colada from a friendly Mayan waiter. Nearby is a secret lagoon and an almost completely intact Mayan ruin. Make your reservation and come explore or relax in paradise!
